Creativity or Second Hand Ideas-Which one works?

Creative people for my work...........Oh my god..Where do i get them from or where do we get them from?............

For me its always been a tiresome task to hunt for creative people if there was a need for such people to be a part of my tasks.Even though i presume myself to be falling in the bandwagon of people who are considered to be the masters of unwanted creativity, still the second hand creative ideas where always more helpful. As we know all ideas are second hand, consciously or unconsciously drawn from various outside sources and used by the creative person with pride and satisfaction saying that its my own creativity like our own movie music tunes.Just wonders me at times is this what we call creativity ?or is it just that copying from the existing ones?

Instead of this i would suggest you to follow this approach:
Record ideas on note cards, your cell phones, your personal dairy if you have one which i do not, and store them in a file box. In the event you need further information about an idea, indicate the source where you found the idea dig more on that never mind you are Googling(Searching in Google-I know this word Googling doesnt exist in the way in which i have used here). Cross reference any ideas that may fit into several different categories from the ones which you already have in your bag of SH ideas.Once you have created an idea file, then i feel there is no need for anyone to help you or tell when and where to use the file!Trust me this is the most advanced way of using the ideas. With all this in mind only we are having this concept of mental coaches from various academic backgrounds being a part of the sports teams these days. For Ex- Mental coaches in Cricket teams. You need have to be a cricketer only to coach cricket players.

Whenever you experience a problem, retrieve an idea from your file that you feel may apply to your need or atleast try to think on the lines of those ideas that are already available to you. This kind of an approach would always provide a quicker solution to your problem rather than you going back to square one and starting to think something creative again.Spread the ideas out before you and review them, suggest inputs on your own and make it more meaningful so that it adds value to your current needs.

Use the following suggestions to select the ideas most suited to your needs if you feel like:
Select the ideas that contain attributes closely related to the attributes of your subject ,map it based on the current needs and then prioritize it accordingly.
Once you have selected several ideas from the larger group ,Examine the ideas. You may realize that the entire idea applies or only one procedure or small portion of the idea applies which may add a lot in solving your current scenario unknowingly.

Conclusion: For me what i always felt was, an idea needs to be original or creative only it is adaptation towards solving a problem or an issue. Never mind whether you beg, borrow, steal, ask someone or copy ideas or even you bluff something and finally it works! Well and good.

Thanks,
VeeraJ

  1. Well...With me planning to get into film direction, this idea will definitely work wonders for me.....Though i dont follow this now,its high time i start doing this....Till a few months ago i used to save all my ideas in my harddisk(BRAIN)....But the problem with it was it never used to be long lasting given my track record of being a GHAJINI(i have a not so good memory power)the ideas used to get outta my brain....But off late i have been using this stick pad and unused pages to write my ideas down...But Ideas doesnt have to be Original(This can be misleading-i meant u can be inspired) by a few incidents or another friends idea also......But reinvent the idea and do some tinkering(wanted a catchy word, didnt find it) with that idea and make it urs....Well 1 thing is for sure....No idea is 100% original like you said.....
